Job Description
OUR CLIENT Our client is a full-service law firm serving a growing roster of diverse public and private clients in the state of California. The firm is ranked tier one in many practice areas including labor & employment.
THE POSITION
The firm is currently seeking a Business Litigation Attorney who also has some labor and employment experience to join the Business Litigation Practice Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creative problem solving
- Taking an active role in case management and strategy with the litigation team
- Supervising junior attorneys in litigation tasks
- Taking and defending depositions
- Representing clients in evidentiary hearings and law and motion proceedings
- Review and interpret contracts.
- Researching and advising clients about a variety of legal issues
- Preparation of pleadings and written discovery document
- Legal research
REQUIREMENTS
- 5-9 years of business litigation, bankruptcy and/or labor and employment experience is a plus
- Exceptional research, writing skills, and a strong academic background
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, including contracts
- Ability to effectively work with people, exercise sound judgment and establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues
- Interest in business litigation
- Ability to multi-task, creatively problem-solve, and bring projects to completion
- High achiever with the ambition to advance in firm
COMPENSATION
$145,000 - $185,000/year depending on experience
