Our client is a prominent law firm in the Rocky Mountain West, known for their high-quality services for emerging and established businesses, with a strong focus on corporate finance and governance, mergers and acquisitions, natural resources, environmental law, real estate, intellectual property, and complex litigation. Their intermediate size offers a personalized experience working with clients, while the sophistication and high quality of work allows the firm to work nationally and internationally.

THE POSITION
The firm is seeking a Property Rights Paralegal to support the attorneys by investigating facts, preparing legal documents, and managing and organizing case documents in all stages of Real Estate Litigation. Successful candidates will be self-starters who possess excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and time management skills. This is a hybrid position with occasional overtime required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and legal document formats; ability to create Table of Contents and Table of Authorities; demonstrated knowledge of blue booking and ability to cite check.
  • Drafting, managing, and filing pleadings and other filings with State and Federal courts and other applicable agencies
  • Creating, composing, and editing written material such as transaction documents, correspondence and/or legal documentation
  • Assisting with exhibit preparation an organization for depositions and trials
  • Working with process servers, court reporters, and other third parties necessary to litigation
  • Working closely with attorneys on all transactions including preparing and maintaining closing checklists, ordering due diligence searches and good standing certificates, coordinating signatures, and assembling closing binders
  • Assisting with case management and retention of all essential case records
  • Maintaining and updating calendars, including all docketing, for all active cases
  • Maintains a billing rate and meets or exceeds the billable hours target of 1600 per year.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of paralegal experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work cooperatively with attorneys, staff, clients, coworkers, and vendors
  • Advanced proficiency with, or ability to learn, software programs(s) used by the firm for conflicts and new business intake, recordkeeping, timekeeping and billing, document management and workflow and willingness to attend trainings and develop proficiency when new technologies are rolled out
  • Excellent understanding of legal, clerical, and court systems
  • Extensive knowledge of the roles and function of the assigned department, and any specifically applicable laws or guidelines

COMPENSATION
$80,000 - $100,000/year DOE
