Tax Associate
Colorado (or Remote)

Our client is a leading expert on federal taxation for sophisticated transactions and partnerships. He is starting a mergers and acquisitions tax consultancy practice and is hiring a junior to mid-level tax associate. This is a unique opportunity to learn from one of the smartest lawyers and tax minds you'll ever encounter. All brains, no ego.

The firm is focused on providing cutting edge tax advice to buyers and sellers of middle-market businesses.  As part of that focus, it offers full tax diligence procedures for both buy-side and sell-side, as well as tax structuring services and related analyses (Section 382, nexus studies, Section 280G calculations, etc.). The candidate would be trained to manage and run tax diligence projects including federal and state income tax, sales and use tax, payroll tax, property tax, and unclaimed property review.  

You'll have a fully remote setup although if you reside in or near Denver, he would love to meet up occasionally to collaborate. You'll learn as much as you'll have fun.

Candidate requirements:
  • Undergrad degree in finance or related field required
  • Experience with one or more of the following required
    • Mergers and acquisitions taxation
    • Tax diligence procedures
    • State income/ sales tax
    • Sales and use tax
    • Federal income tax
  • One or more of the following preferred;
    • JD or LLM in taxation
    • Experience at a Big 4 Accounting firm
    • Experience at a law firm

Because of the nature of these transactions, while you have a lot of flexibility and can work from home, you should expect to have to be accessible after traditional business hours at times.

Compensation

Target base salary for this hire ranges from $150k-$200k, DOE.
